Taj Mahal

The Taj needs no explanation. Just pictures. We went with the tour group as our last stop. Those are the sunny shot. The group went back to Delhi, and we stayed on in our own little guesthouse. We returned to the Taj at 7:30 the next morning for a quiet time.

The gate that allows the Taj to emerge as you approach.
Built in perfect symmetry.
Doing a teaser. The guard blew the whistle since my feet were lifted. Oops. We were only encouraged to make 1 pose where we looked like we were holding the top.
Attention to detail even where one walks.
All marble and precious stone inlay.
On the east is a working mosque. On the west is a symmetrical match, but not working because of it's proximity to Mecca.
During the time of building, workers lived in thesadjacent halls
The next morning, on our walk there. monkeys

And camels getting ready for work
The Taj emerges from the fog. Mystical

These Minarettes a built slanting slightly outwards, so they appear straight up, rather than leaning in, from a distance. They were also built to help the Taj look larger. Perspective.
The mosque in the morning through one of the carved marble panels.
No pictureswereallowed inside the actual dome area. Although in the morning, I could hear the wind outside the dome make a haunting yet peaceful tone.
