Ajmer, Temple visit

jan 7 evening
We were advised not to take any cameras because if the crowds and possible pick pockets, thus no pictures. 😥

First, we got there in Rickshaws. Three per person. That was a ride in itself. Exciting!

Aimer Sharif Dargah is a HUGE temple for a Sufi saint by the same name. People from various religions revere this saint and visit the temple. It was a giant white dome building that we were able to see at the end of a long street filled with market vendors. There were strings of white lights hanging from the top to the bottom. Beautiful.

A common offering are roses, so there were beautiful round arrangements of red and white roses for sale. Rose incense was burning in the temple. After removing our shoes, we walked through the spaces for prayers. we got a group blessing. they covered our heads with a cloth and received the blessing as a group.mIt was all very rushed, and they wanted to make sure we stayed close together. I guess that some foreigners have trouble but we complied.  Interesting.

A young girl held onto one of our member's arm (with bracelet) the whole walk back to the Rickshaws. Tushar had to use a gruff voice to chase her off. Very rare to see him. Be fierce, but he always takes up the end of the train to be sure none of us get too far off the trail.
